Massage Therapy

The benefits of therapeutic massage have been known for thousands of years. They include increased circulation, flexibility, relief of pain, and relaxation. At Health From Within we offer Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release and Cranio-sacral Therapy.

At Health From Within, we have two Massage Therapist that schedule out of our office to help with patients needs. While therapeutic massage is often relaxing, the end goal of the session or series of sessions is not relaxation. Therapeutic goals can vary considerably between patients and even massages on the same patient. The massage at our Dublin clinic may be performed as part of a larger treatment plan. For example, someone seeking therapy for an injury might have regular therapeutic massage to:

  • Loosen muscles

  • Improve muscle tone

  • Increase flexibility

  • Stabilize the chiropractic adjustment

People may also use therapeutic massage as a standalone treatment. Some people receive massage regularly to keep themselves in good physical condition. Massage may also be used as part of a general wellness program. Those who work at a desk may use massage for general stress relief and to ward off neck, back, and arm pain. Those who have jobs that are strenuous on the body may want to keep their muscles loose, strong, and flexible.

People of all ages can benefit from therapeutic massage when it is performed by a competent and fully qualified practitioner. Massage is also suitable for people with disabilities, expecting mothers, and people in treatment for medical conditions. Special precautions may need to be taken to protect the health of the patient. As always, you can consult your medical care providers to learn if there are any contraindications to receiving a massage.

Ian, LMT

Ian has been practicing massage therapy since his graduation from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in 2010. Since then he has seen thousands of clients for a variety of issues. In this time Ian has gravitated towards deep tissue work and trigger point therapy especially focusing on the neck and shoulders, believing that if their tension can be relieved the entire body benefits from this soothing of the nervous pathways. Ian's training in western anatomy and physiology has been further bolstered by investigation into eastern disciplines. He has pursued energetic training via Chinese internal martial arts and inner stability through Chan Buddhism. Ian attends baguazhang classes and Chan meditation retreats regularly.

"Ian has been my masseuse for nearly 12 years. Each and every time I see him he assesses my body we talk about what's going on and then he makes a plan of what he needs to focus on. He's very dedicated and knowledgeable. And I personally feel, 100% better after having a massage from him. Simply a great human being."

Lee W.

"I hope each and everyone of you get lucky enough to have Ian do a massage on you. He's always thorough talking to you to see what areas of concern you might have and then focusing in on the spots they're really hurting. He's very kind and understanding always there with a kind word. Ian is a great masseuse."
